Moonlit Thoughts

Because there is enough tension and hate in the world, it is time for something else. This is a poem about that most wonderful kind of longing.

You are my secret hope
My scribbles left
On a forgotten note
The day dream
To which again and again
My mind floats

You are my favourite kind
Of insomnia
Always wanting to speak with ya
I say goodnight
But my body doesn't listen
Keeping me up until dawn glistens

I send out good vibes
On cosmic tibes
Reading each sign
Looking for traces of hope
In your words
That you heard

My eyes seek yours
Knocking at them
As if they were doors
Asking you to feel the joy
That runs through me when we meet
As excited as a boy

You have made
A home in my mind
In every thought
It is you
That I find
Your face, your smile

I practice patience
Like an Olympic sport
As I work out
When to wait
And when to talk
Happily caught

The good dream I awake
To be in
I look forward
To a time
When these are truths
I am speaking

This is my late night poem
Written to you
In the hours
When the moon looks through
Because now
What else could I do?
